Smelly Feet

Your feet are the sweatiest part of your body. The bacteria which are responsible for the foul odor of your feet micrococcus and corynebacterium. They produce isolaveric acid which produces the odor. Once your feet are inside your shoes, they can reach a very high temperature and produce lots of perspiration. The space in your shoes can become a great breeding spot for the germs which multiply in no time. No wonder your feet can be very smelly.

Here are some tips in order to take good care of your feet and to prevent it from being stinky. First, you have to make it a habit to wash your feet every single day with antibacterial soap in a lukewarm water and make sure to dry them properly. You may use loofah or bathing net to scrape off the dead skin cells which may also leave your to be smelly.

Then, before putting on the the socks, make sure that your feet are dry and put on some foot powder or baking soda after. You may also fill your old socks or stockings with baking soda or cornstarch and put it in your shoes to stop the foul smell. This not only eliminate the stinky smell, it also neutralizes the odor of your feet .

Next, you have to wear clean and cottony socks. You have to change your socks regularly. Choose the natural fiber and absorbent ones in order for the skin to breathe. Thick soft ones help absorb the perspiration. It is advisable for you to wear socks every time you wear closed shoes. Do not forget to bleach the socks in order to kill the germs.

You have to have more than one pair of shoes and give each pair of shoes a chance to dry out for at least twenty-four hours. You should avoid buying shoes made of plastic. Instead, go for those that are made of leather or cloth which allows your feet to breathe.

Some of the teas have properties of removing body odor. The tannin in black tea is responsible for killing the odor-causing bacteria. You may soak your feet in a container with black tea for about ten minutes. For you to make the black tea treatment, you just have to boil two teabags of black tea in two cups of water for fifteen minutes. Then, add four cups of cold water, before soaking your feet.

If your feet are still stinky despite following the appropriate hygiene for the feet, then you might have some infection which caused your feet to be smelly. So, it is time to seek your doctor’s attention.
